Dive Into the World of Navida Nizhu

Navida Ameen Nizhu is an award-winning creative professional, documentary filmmaker, and senior consultant with over a decade of experience in graphic design, branding, and media production. She began her career as a Graphic Designer at Prothom Alo, one of Bangladesh’s leading newspapers, while completing her degree in Graphic Design & Multimedia at Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology.

Over the years, Navida has built a distinguished career, earning recognition such as the Grand Award for Photography at the UODA Art Exhibition (2015) and the Best Photograph Award at C Zone Art School Exhibition (2011). Her creative vision extends beyond design into branding and strategic communication, where she has collaborated with organizations like the Bangladesh Adventure Foundation and served as Senior Creative Consultant at Ikigai Advisory Group Pvt. Ltd., Australia, leading innovative branding and marketing initiatives.

Navida’s passion for visual storytelling led her to filmmaking, where she directed the documentary More Than A Refugee (2024), based on life in the Rohingya refugee camps in Ukhiya, Bangladesh. The film not only premiered in Cox’s Bazar but also earned international acclaim, including the Female Director Honorable Mention in a Short Film award at the South Film and Arts Academy Festival (2025). Beyond directing, she has trained Rohingya youth in documentary filmmaking, amplifying voices from marginalized communities through media.

Driven by a commitment to artistic excellence and social impact, Navida continues to explore the intersection of art, culture, and storytelling to reach broader audiences through filmmaking and creative direction.

Navida made significant contributions to BCM’s projects, most notably directing More Than a Refugee, a documentary on the lives of Rohingya refugees, in collaboration with Asian Justice & Rights. She also trained a Rohingya film team, empowering them to document their community’s stories. Her ability to transition from design to impactful storytelling reflects her versatility and commitment to excellence.

Navida is truly a gifted individual.
